Nate Yarbrough specializes in the design, installation and training of mobile, marine, and off-grid electrical systems. Since 2018, Nate has focused on DIY Solar Electrical Systems to bring more user-friendly information to the general public. Nate is a brand ambassador and trainer for Victron Energy and Battle Born Batteries, with whom he partners in order to create simple-to-follow tutorials for the DIY Solar Electrical user. Nate and his wife, Steph, built out their own 2007 Sprinter into a campervan, which they then lived in with their two dogs for 4 years. They have since moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where they continue to create tutorials for the vanlife DIYer, while enjoying the beauty of nature by hiking, biking, skiing, and horseback riding in the mountains.

Steph Yarbrough facilitates the projects and business management of EXPLORIST.life. In 2021, Steph focused her attention on opening the EXPLORIST.life shop, which supplies all the parts necessary to complete the projects that are taught on EXPLORIST.life. Bringing her expertise from her career in business, Steph aims to simplify the buying process for camper electrical systems. Steph and her husband, Nate, built out their own 2007 Sprinter into a campervan, which they then lived in with their two dogs for 4 years. Grace Coomaraswamy manages all creative content for EXPLORIST.life. After joining the team in early 2022, Grace has streamlined the video creation process and has taken the helm on organizing content scheduling, videography, editing, and photography. Grace’s processes and organization has allowed EXPLORIST.life to become more efficient in the tutorial creation process and has been essential in creating content on a regular schedule. Grace moved to Steamboat Springs in 2021 and is an avid skier and fly-fisher.

Chad Modomo manages the warehouse operations for the EXPLORIST.life shop. Joining the team in 2022, Chad facilitated the growth and expansion of the warehouse and shop, expanding into two new warehouses within a year. Chad’s expertise in operations management has allowed the EXPLORIST.life shop to streamline logistics and expand product offerings to allow our customers even more customization in their camper electrical systems. Chad and his wife, April, built out their own 2016 Ford Transit into a campervan, which they then lived in with their pup, Koa. Growing up in Florida, they have since settled down in Steamboat Springs and are enjoying the mountain scenery by biking, hiking, and skiing every chance they get.

Nicholas Beiler manages events, B2B sales, and leads the fulfillment team at EXPLORIST.life. Since joining the team in 2023, Nicholas has ensured the seamless package delivery to our valued customers. As the primary liaison for wholesale clients, he spearheads communication and assists in structuring our event calendar. Nicholas brings a unique perspective, having dedicated the past year and a half to living in and customizing his van. Originally from Virginia, he has immersed himself in the Colorado lifestyle for the past five years, indulging in hiking, running, tinkering, and bonding with his loyal companion, Rajah.

Morgan Munkvold manages and facilitates in-house electrical installations at EXPLORIST.life. Morgan joined the team in 2024 and has jumped head-first into installations and continues to spearhead this new department. Morgan’s van journey began in 2017 when she embraced full-time van life. Amidst the pandemic in 2020, Morgan and her husband, Ira, embarked on a new van build mission, focusing on an electrical system to sustain their off-grid lifestyle. Drawing from her own experiences, Morgan specializes in equipping clients with reliable off-grid power solutions, aiming to seamlessly integrate renewable resources. Based in Blue River, Oregon, she enjoys nature through rafting, hiking, and gardening.

Ira Munkvold leads electrical installations for EXPLORIST.life. Ira joined the team in early 2024, bringing his technical background in LiDAR product development and system training to the world of off-grid electrical systems.  After meeting his now wife Morgan in 2017, Ira jumped in her 2000 Econoline and started his journey in Van life. Ira’s technical knowledge of complex electrical systems and years of experience with the good, bad, and ugly of electrical setups has provided Ira with an ideal background for designing and installing off-grid electrical systems.  Ira enjoys rafting, kayaking, hiking, fishing and exploration at his back door in Blue River, Oregon. 

Sean Backes is the newest member of the EXPLORIST.life team. He has been a Colorado resident since 2006, originally from Central New York. With 20 years of experience in the natural foods industry, Sean brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our team. Recently engaged, he excels in warehouse support. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Sean enjoys cycling, skiing, and all things outdoors. He’s also a huge fan of the bands Phish and The Disco Biscuits.
