Nate Yarbrough | CEO
Nate specializes in designing, installing and teaching mobile, marine and off-grid electrical systems. Since 2018, he’s focused on DIY solar, creating user-friendly tutorials as a brand ambassador and has worked as a trainer for Victron Energy and Battle Born Batteries. Nate and his wife, Steph, converted a 2007 Sprinter van and lived on the road with their two dogs for four years! Now based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado they continue sharing DIY van life education while exploring the outdoors.
Steph Yarbrough | COO/CFO
Steph brings a background in accounting and business management consulting, where she ensures smooth shop operations. She and her husband, Nate, spent four years traveling in a self-converted Sprinter van with their two dogs before settling in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. When she’s not helping DIYers master their electrical builds, Steph enjoys hiking, biking, skiing and horseback riding in the mountains.
Grace Coomaraswamy | Marketing Director
Grace joined the EXPLORIST.life team in early 2022 and now leads all marketing and creative efforts. She produces every YouTube tutorial and manages paid advertising, web and SEO strategy, and design across platforms. Based in Steamboat Springs, she enjoys skiing, exploring the outdoors with her dog Levi, and capturing Colorado’s landscapes through photography.
Morgan Munkvold | Installation Manager
Morgan began van life in 2017 and quickly learned the importance of a reliable electrical system after struggling with dead batteries and inconsistent power. What started as solving her own challenges grew into a passion for off-grid setups, which she and her husband, Ira, turned into a professional installation business in Oregon. Today, she helps others live and explore sustainably with the confidence of reliable power.
Ira Munkvold | Lead Installer
Ira joined EXPLORIST.life in early 2024, bringing a background in LiDAR product development and system training to off-grid electrical systems. After meeting his wife, Morgan, in 2017, he jumped into her 2000 Econoline and began his van life journey. Years of hands-on experience with the good, bad and ugly of electrical setups have shaped his approach to designing reliable off-grid systems. When he’s not working, he’s rafting, kayaking, hiking or exploring around Blue River, Oregon.
Julie Jaeger | E-Commerce Operations Specialist / Warehouse Manager
Julie joined EXPLORIST.life in July 2025. A passionate outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys running, backpacking and playing rugby. She’s eager to expand her knowledge of electrical systems and is currently pursuing a Masters in Forklift Operations.
Anna Cain | Customer Service Technician
Anna is part of the Customer Success Team at EXPLORIST.life. A passionate outdoor enthusiast, she loves alternative living and spending time with her dogs. In 2022, she built out a five-window school bus, affectionately named June Girl, using guidance from EXPLORIST.life videos and newsletters. Her bus features a 2000W inverter and 500W of solar, similar to the EXPLORE Lite kit.
CJ Jessett | Customer Service Technician
CJ began van life in 2015 and has since helped build over a dozen vans, developing a strong passion for electrical work – including building a custom battery system. After discovering EXPLORIST.life, CJ honed best practices and technical skills. Outside of work, CJ enjoys paragliding and exploring new countries.
Logan Chance | Electrical Installer
Logan builds RV electrical systems at EXPLORIST.life’s installation shop in Redmond, Oregon. His passion for off-grid power began with converting his own van, inspiring him to create safe, reliable systems for others. With a background in outdoor education and electrical technology, he combines technical skill and hands-on problem-solving to help people power their off-grid adventures.
Marcie Wahrer | Marketing Assistant
Marcie joined the EXPLORIST.life team in September 2025, bringing over a decade of experience in digital marketing, content creation and social media management. Based in Las Vegas, she combines her creative expertise with a passion for storytelling and community engagement. Outside of work, Marcie is an avid reader, dedicated gym enthusiast and sports fanatic.
