Controlling lights with traditional switches—whether it’s one-way, two-way, or even five-way switching—can be frustrating. If you’ve ever tried to integrate multiple dimmers into your system, you know that it’s either complicated or simply doesn’t work. Fortunately, there’s a smarter solution: the REDARC TVMS Rogue.
In this post, we’ll break down how the REDARC TVMS Rogue solves the complexities of lighting control in mobile, marine, and off-grid electrical systems.

REDARC TVMS Rogue – VIDEO

Why Traditional Multi-Way Switching is a Challenge
Standard switches and dimmers rely on mechanical connections, which work fine in simple setups but fall apart when you need multiple control points. If you’ve ever wired up a three-way or four-way dimmer and found it didn’t function the way you expected, you’re not alone.
The REDARC TVMS Rogue takes a completely different approach. Instead of relying on mechanical switches, it uses digital signal control, making multi-way switching and dimming simple and reliable.
The First REDARC Product in the EXPLORIST.life Store!
At EXPLORIST.life, we don’t sell anything unless we’ve tested it and created tutorials for it. The REDARC TVMS Rogue is the first REDARC product we’re offering, and for good reason—it provides a simple, powerful, and scalable way to manage lighting and other branch circuits.
Understanding the REDARC TVMS Rogue System

The Core Components
The TVMS Rogue system consists of several key elements:
- Main Control Unit (“The Brain”) – This gets power from your DC distribution system or battery.
- Circuit Wires (Orange/Black Wires) – These connect to your lights, fans, refrigerator, or any other powered devices.
- Signal Wires (Black/Red/Green Wires) – These wires are used for sensor integration.
- Switch Wires (Blue & Gray Wires) – These allow for physical switch control.
- Display Screen – This mounts on a wall for intuitive control.
- Mobile App – Enables Bluetooth control from your smartphone.
Setting Up Multi-Way Dimming & Switching
The Goal
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll be able to:
✔ Control a light from the touchscreen display
✔ Control the same light using the REDARC app
✔ Control it from two separate wall-mounted switches
✔ Dim the light from all control points
Step 1: Wiring the System
The wiring is straightforward:
- Connect Power – The control unit receives power from a DC distribution hub.
- Connect the Display Screen – A communication cable links it to the main unit.
- Connect the Light Circuit (C1) – Positive and negative wires connect to the light fixture.
- Connect Switches to the Switch Inputs (E1 & E2) – These wires handle the external switches.

At this point, the system is physically connected, but it still needs to be programmed.
Step 2: Programming the TVMS Rogue

Configuring the Light Circuit (C1)
- Open the RedVision Configurator app.
- Enable Bluetooth on the control unit.
- Tap Read Device to sync the app with the system.
- Navigate to Wiring Configuration > Outputs.
- Select C1 (the light circuit).
- Assign it a name and icon.
- Enable Light Dimming Mode and Save.

Programming the Switches (E1 & E2)
- Navigate to Switch Inputs.
- Select E1 and name it “Light Switch 1”.
- Set it as a push-button normally open switch.
- Repeat for E2 (“Light Switch 2”).
- Save settings and back out.
Assigning Switch Functions

- Go to Control Configuration.
- Select Light Switch 1 and assign it to C1.
- Set it to Dimmer (On/Off Toggle, Press & Hold).
- Repeat for Light Switch 2.
- Save settings.
Configuring the Display Screen

- Go to Soft Keys and assign the first key to the light circuit (C1).
- Set it to Dimmer (On/Off Toggle, Press & Hold).
- Save settings.
Finalizing the Setup
- Press Program to push the configuration to the TVMS Rogue.
- Wait for the system to reboot.
- Confirm that the new icon appears on the display screen.
Step 3: Testing the System
Now, you should be able to:
✅ Turn the light on and off from the touchscreen
✅ Control it via the REDARC app
✅ Use both physical switches to turn the light on/off
✅ Dim the light from all control points
The system recognizes momentary switch presses as on/off commands and press-and-hold actions as dimming inputs. The display screen updates in real-time, showing whether the light is on or off.
Why This Is a Game-Changer
This setup eliminates the complications of traditional multi-way dimming. No more dealing with mechanical switches that don’t work together properly. Instead, you get:
✔ Simple, intuitive programming
✔ Reliable switching from multiple locations
✔ App-based control for remote access
✔ Expandable options (additional screens and switches)
For anyone building a camper van, RV, boat, or off-grid system, the REDARC TVMS Rogue makes lighting control easy, flexible, and future-proof.
Want a Second Display? No Problem.
If you want a second touchscreen, you can simply:
- Buy another display screen
- Get an additional communication cable
- Plug it into the control unit
Now, both screens will have identical functionality—control your lights (and other devices) from multiple locations.
